USDA Rural Development Loans

Using a USDA loan, buyers can finance 100% of a home’s purchase price while getting access to better-than-average mortgage rates. This is because USDA mortgage rates are discounted as compared to rates with other low-down payment loans.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) sets lending guidelines for the program, which is why it is also called the USDA Rural Development (RD) Loan. This mortgage type reduces costs for home buyers in rural and suburban areas. It is one of the most cost effective home buying programs in the marketplace today.

With flexible requirements, USDA loans feature:

  • 100% financing + required guarantee fee = 102% of the appraised value
  • Low FICO score requirements
  • Low interest rates
  • Low closing costs
  • Gift funds can be used for closing costs
  • 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage
