Hope everyone had an excellent Thanksgiving and enjoy their holidays!
Things have been pretty hectic around here and therefore, no updates for a long while, sorry.
Here’s some things I can remember:
1) Our house has had 4 offers so far!
We have had 3 contracts (escrow or before escrow even started) fall through. Our last one, we were very close to being sold when the buyers found out their relative, with the same name, put all these credit issues on her credit report.
They were able to clear up all credit problems except for one. The last one wouldn’t budge to move the credit problem back to the original person, and in desperation, wanted us to pay to clear the credit problem. Something like $3900. Since we were already paying close to $11000 in closing costs for them, we backed out and said no deal.
We attempted to get them to once again raise the selling price to $280,000 to cover the costs of closing escrow and their credit problem, but they said no. End of that.
We are now in escrow once again with this Mexican family. They are part of a marble refinishing company and want to use this house as a demo to what they can do here in Silver Lakes.
I don’t care, we will just see if they can get funding. Very frustrating.
2) New camera.
We purchased a new Kodak Z7590 camera for $350 from Costco. Awesome deal. I love the 10x optical zoom. Purchased a 1GB storage card for it from Amazon, that’ll be here soon. We wanted a 5MP camera for quite some time and now, we finally have one!
3) New Monitor coming. Ordered yesterday!
There was an awesome deal for a Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1 inch LCD.
Picked this $628.00 monitor for $330 plus tax. Came out to $368.15.
4) New laptop.
Purchased a new laptop for the business today. HP ZD8000 series with all the upgrades. Found a $200 off coupon.
5) Lots of spending because we had to!
Interestingly, we have a new and strange situation where our business did too well and in need of writeoffs before the end of the year. That’s exactly what we are doing.
I found all of the great deals from a website called FatWallet.com. Just go to the forums section and do some searching. Very good deals to be had.
The monitor offer was only online for 6 hours before the huge rebates and coupons to bring the price so low was removed.
6) Hard drive issues.
Basically, I thought I had it all squared aware when I started freezing all over again. The culprit ended up being my main drive that included drive C. So one of the reasons it took a while to update this site was recovering from that, getting a new drive for C: and rebuilding with no data loss.
Make backups people!!!!! Life saver for me.
Well, need to go to town. Enjoy the holidays!
