We want to move

Scott | July 26, 2005 1:16 am

Tammy and I along with Mom & Pete are talking about moving out of California.

I can’t stand the over-population of California and it gets worse every year.

Tammy found this website, FindYourSpot.com that is simply put, amazing. You fill out an 8 page questionaire and it gives you awesome places to live based on your feedback.

Right now, we’re all looking seriously into Arizona. The non-H-O-T locations. Areas aroung Flagstaff like Sedona or Prescott. Or up in Northern Arizona, we found this tiny town called Page that really caught our eye.

Its nice working from home, the job simply moves right along with you. No problems for us!

Computer Problems!

Scott | July 25, 2005 6:08 pm

Lately, I’ve been having a ton of crashes and BSODs with WindowsXP Pro SP2.

Its one of three things so far from testing.
1) Video card once again failing. I think my monitor is to blame for killing 3 video cards now. If that isn’t the issue, I’ll be amazed.

2) Hard drive failure. The BSOD error according to Microsoft’s Knowledge Base says there is a corrupt paging file request that causes this particular BSOD and usually is the cause of the hard drive.

3) It could be a firefox 1.0.6 plugin.

Regarding 3, I’m not sure yet. I’m running Firefox in safe mode (no extensions enabled and available via the Start > Programs menu) and haven’t crashed in 3 hours.

It occured to me that every time I crashed, it had firefox running. So hmmmmmm.

Cole cuts his hair! Yay!!

Scott | July 22, 2005 1:12 pm

Cole walks into the bedroom: “Mom! I cut my hair!”

LOL, and he wasn’t joking either. That’s right, Cole actually cut his hair.

We were in the bedroom and he was watching TV in the living room. Apparently, he found some scissors and cut his hair in large spot all the way down to the skin. LOL :)

So, knowing there is no other choice, we decided to just shave him the rest of the way. Since pictures are worth a thousand words and I need to go to town, here’s the pics.

He came into the room looking like this.

So we shaved his head in the bathroom.

After every haircut, he demands a bath to remove the hair on his body.

By the way, when Tammy went to pick up the hair in the livingroom, he asked mommy to put the hair back on his head……. ahhhhhh the simple mind of a three-year-old.

“Beam me up Scotty” actor dies.

Scott | July 20, 2005 11:02 am

Ahhh, the famous line “Beam me up, Scotty” that I heard ever so much growing up, was spoken to James Doohan on Star Trek.

In unfortunate news today, I found out James Doohan has died. RIP my friend.

Took the quad in for service

Scott | July 19, 2005 7:47 pm

Ahhh, finally, my appointment was today to get my quad’s firsat 10 hour service done. Also having them check valve spacings to make sure everything is perfect. Bought some grease for the quad’s moving parts today as well.

They don’t do tire patches for the hole I got in my rear tire. However, they did say that they do the plug thing as well which Gary already did for me. I need to find me one of those tire plug kits and one of those cigarette lighter air compressors so if I get into a bind, I can pump up the tire on my quad to at least get it back in the truck. LOL.

I can’t wait to open this quad up some more. Woot!

Bought new CD player for my truck

Scott | 7:36 pm

Bought the Pioneer DEH-P4700MP for my truck.

Receiver

Can’t wait to get this to install it. The truck came with AM/FM and CASETTE only. Oh hell no. Anyone actually have any casettes?? LOL.

I haven’t used Crutchfield since I bought all the car audio for my Ford Festiva way back in 1994.

Let me tell you, all you do is tell them exactly what vehicle you have and they output all the receivers and audio equipment that will fit. Not only that, but get this, they include the Receiver Kit (14.99), Receiver Harness ($14.99), Receiver Antenna Adapter ($12.99), Mastersheet instructions ($4.99) and a In-Dash Receiver Installation Guide (FREE) ALL INCLUDED FREE. Of course, that’s not all! Since the receiver was $154, I got free shipping and I wasn’t charged tax. Incredible!

I can’t believe how cheap audio equipment is now. Back in the day, I would have paid $399 for a receiver like this with remote. I love it!

BTW, Gary, if your reading this, this officially means you can take my old Pioneer CD player that was in the Festiva for cheap. Give me a call.

There is an alternative to adding more software to your computer to read RSS feeds. Firefox Live Bookmarks!

All you have to do is click the Live Bookmark icon when you are on a site that supports it. Here’s a small screenshot I made that shows the icon on the lower right hand corner of the Mozilla Firefox browser.
